The Building is a 5-star Luxury Hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean to the East and 270° views of the Nerang river and Broadwater to the West. The basement floor sits below the water table and is exhibiting severe signs of concrete spalling. The outcome sought by the client is to remediate the nominated severe areas, reinstating the floor surface to accept vehicular traffic while maintaining structural integrity.

Carpark: Basement Floor Remediation

Identify repair zones
Remove loose and flaky concrete
Excavate around surviving Reo Steel bars and check for corrosion
Hold point for Engineer to evaluate structural integrity of steel and advise repair or replacement
Clean, prepare and prime existing and newly installed steel
Install Epoxy resin aggregate system to prepared area
